New Construction Underpinning

New construction underpinning is an increasingly popular method to stop settling problems before they start. By installing a deep foundation system prior to placing your foundation you can ensure that the structure will rest on a solid base for years to come.New Construction Underpinning

When questionable soils may not be sufficient to carry the load of the structure using traditional concrete foundations, Secure Foundation Systems, Inc. has the answer. Our grouted and non-grouted Auger Piers and Helical Anchors provide the foundational integrity that is necessary to secure your structure.

U-shaped BracketNew Construction Auger Piers can be installed as a non-grouted or grouted solution. The Auger Piers are drilled down to load bearing strata and attached to the foundation via a custom U-shaped bracket (figure 1). When the contractor places the concrete, the bracket is essentially “tied” into the foundation along with any other steel that may have been set.

Secure Foundation Systems, Inc.'s Auger Piers are custom fabricated to effectively provide compression (load bearing) support and tension (uplift) resistance as specified by the Structural Engineer.

New Construction Helical Anchors can be installed as a non-grouted or grouted solution. The Helical Anchors are drilled down to refusal or until required pressure readings specified by the Engineer are attained. The Helical Anchors are embedded within the foundation via a custom U-shaped bracket. When the contractor places the concrete, the bracket is essentially "tied" into the foundation along with any other steel that may have been set.

Secure Foundation Systems, Inc.'s Helical Anchors are custom fabricated to effectively provide compression (load bearing) support and tension (uplift) resistance as specified by the Structural Engineer.

The pictures below show 16 new construction underpins that were pre-drilled to the engineers desired depth and sleeved. The underpins are structurally tied into the corners of the grade beams and will add additional support to the new interior slab (click the photos to enlarge).
